A little known fact and too bad its not in the enclosed literature.
Ink toner cartridges are very expensive like $200 plus for a new set.
They use a smart chip that tells you when the cartridge is low. But its only a guess... by
the brainless chip. There may be many hundreds of copies left in your cartridge, but
because of the chip you can't get to it. So you buy new ones, throwing out good EXPENSIVE
ink.
Here is the secret. You can override the chip set. I've been able to print as many as 1000 more copies on
cartridges the CHIP said were empty.
On your front panel, press the blue check mark button, tab thru the menus with the right arrow button till
you get to "System set up" press the blue check mark button, tab thru the menus again with the right arrow
till you get to "print quality", press the blue check mark button again, tab thru the menus again with the right
arrow till you get to "replace supplies", press the blue check mark button again, tab thru the menus again till
you get to "override out" and set it at OVERRIDE OUT by pressing the blue check mark button twice. And
Voila... you've just beat the system.... you can now continue to print till you visually see that a cartridge is
really low... but the color being off.
If you're color blind, ask a friend for help... but any computer savy person can tell when the color is off...
then you can pull out the cartridge, shake it up a bit, and print for a little more... then you can change it.
Top secret news if you're the ink cartridge company.... But you end up saving a small fortune using the
cartidges to their full capacity.
This will save you money, and you won't feel as gypted by the ink / toner cartridge suppliers.
Blessings, Max Rainet.
