When it comes to making a million investing in real estate it is always good practise if the person advising you what to do has actually made that million and has it resting in the bank, waiting for him to use.
Having made just about every mistake in the real estate investor’s handbook I can honestly say that having made my first million has also left me with the desire to help others who have not been as fortunate as I was to avoid just the type of mistakes I made in my career.
As a real estate investor who jumped into the market with the desire to make it rich I have been involved in just about every kind of real estate deal you care to imagine. I have bought and sold single-family dwellings, I have bought properties, done them up and sold them at a profit and I have bought properties and flipped them quickly for a fast buck. I have invested long term in multi-family dwellings, putting in place parallel income streams which have given me the financial freedom I now enjoy and I have headed syndicates making money for myself and others in high-profile real estate ventures with practically no risk to myself other than my reputation.
You could say that in my career I have seen it all and have had the opportunity to make all the mistakes I am now in the position to advise against.
So, is there a secret? Something which I cover in my real estate home study courses or my real estate workshops which will allow you to reach the same kind of financial freedom I have? Well, yes and no.
Yes, there is something and no it is not magical or blind or automated in any way and there is simply no way you can go away apply it and watch the money roll in. Real estate investment is not rocket science and you don’t have to be a brain surgeon to actually be great at it but it does follow a certain logic, it requires a plan and it needs you to be able to pay attention to detail, be creative with your time and efforts and be prepared to cover all those details which may wrong foot you and cause you to lose money, time and possibly your reputation.
Provided you are prepared to explore the opportunities which arise with a view to minimising your exposure and working to provide win-win scenarios at a healthy profit real estate investment can be a hugely rewarding career which will truly take you to your ultimate goal of being financially free.
