How to identify a counterfeit/replica EOTech Holographic sight :
Look for item being produced or shipped in/from China and Korea, and distributed throughout the US, these counterfeit products are red-dot sights built to look exactly like a Holographic Weapon Sight on the outside. Often, the appearance between the genuine EOTech products and the counterfeits is nearly indiscernible, including replications of registered trademarks.
To assist in identifying a counterfeit product, you should look for the following:
- Look for uncommon batteries - replicas usually but not all utilize hearing aid style button batteries
- Item offers multiple colors of the reticle such as red and green
- High reflective optics on the glass
- Visibility of LED inside the cavity reflecting on the inside
- NV button switches from red to green
- Lack of EOTech manufacturing and serial number
These replicas are often marked for recreational or air-soft applications only and WILL NOT:
- Hold or maintain to battle zero
- Unable to adjust the x/y axis accurately
- Unable to withstand excessive shock or recoil from any type of small to medium weapon
- No waterproof capability
