HOW TO FLATTEN BOTTLE CAPS FOR SCRAPBOOKING

It's as easy as 1...2...3

A lot of people love to work with bottle caps on their scrapbook pages or on any other projects but are afrais to use them since they are pretty thick and give you a lot of bulk in your albums. To help with that these bottle caps can easily be flattened and you will end up with a pretty thin embellishment that is not much thicker than a regular 3-dimensional embellishment.

For those who have a Sizzix machine with a converter it is probably the easiest way to flatten bottle caps without getting scratches on especially the colored varieties. Just put up to 6 caps in two rows on the plate with the smooth side up and press the handle down. You will end up with nice flat caps without having to use a lot of strength.

Others just use a mallet to hammer the bottle caps flat each by each on a plain and hard surface. I even have seen friends doing the flattening work on the curb outside their homes...

To embellish the caps which by the way come in a variety of colors (I myself offer 14 different colors and patterns) use a 1" punch and use any kind of decoration. Once the caps are flattened you will end up with a nice beaded look like frame around your caps which even makes for a nice extra.

To adhere just put double sided tape on the back or use hot glue on other surfaces.
