Now a days over e bay we used to see many sellers selling high capacity flash drives and it is interesting that many of them are fake which may show in the properties the value defined but the real capacity of those drives are much less than the given!
There is a very easy way to test it-
As soon as you receive the drive please OPEN it from the cover please don't throw out the packaging , download the programme 'h2testw' from internet to PC-you can make a google search with the same keyword, you will find the download link.
Unzip the h2testw run the exe file in windows (for MAC H2testw Alternative Program Called F3)
The result will be something like this. for advertised 32GB drive, I found after test that it is of 8GB!
The media is likely to be defective.
7.4 GByte OK 15690176 sectors
23.7 GByte DATA LOST 49808960 sectors
Details:0 KByte overwritten 0 sectors
0 KByte slightly changed 8 bit/sector, 0 sectors
23.7 GByte corrupted 49808960 sectors
0 KByte aliased memory 0 sectors
First error at offset:
H2testw version 1.3
Writing speed: 11.7 MByte/s
Reading speed: 8.35 MByte/s
Next: Report immediately to ebay. OPEN a case in resolution center and get your money back.
