For all practical purposes, we will use the Dell 4700 to demonstrate this process. To build this computer, you will need the following components.
A Dell 4700 case and motherboard. The case should have a power supply, power cord, heatsink, and fan and shroud. This motherboard comes with an onboard VGA, Sound card, and ethernet connection.
In addition to this, you will need:
- An Intel Pentium 4 CPU (2.8 - 3.6) GHz LGA 775
- Thermal Coolant Solution
- Seagate 160GB SATA Hard Drive
- Samsung 1GB pc3200 DDR2 memory 2x(512)
- Sony DVD/CD Rom
- Plextor SATA DVD/RW
- Mouse and Keyboard
- 56k modem
Also, you will need two SATA Cables, Floppy cable, and a small phillips srew driver.
Software: Windows XP Pro, Microsoft Office, Dell 4700 Resource CD, Norton System Works 2006 and CD Burning software.
