How& Where to Report & Forward Spoof Phishing Emails
may 12, 2009
the address I gave below to forward the spoof and phishing emails to, seems to be working well. between that and the spam button, i have almost eliminated that kind of stuff from my inbox. and besides, you have to be careful not to leave your email address on websites that want you to do that (sign up) in order to proceed, etc. I have even gone through google, searched for my email address, then removed it from their base as much as possible wherever it shows up. google has a process for that and it seems to help.
below are the original post and older updates.
UPDATE: I FOUND A GREAT EMAIL ADDRESS TO FORWARD PHISHING EMAILS TO.
For other than the paypal/ ebay spoofs.
USE THIS, DO NOT ADD ANYTHING TO THE EMAIL , JUST HIT FORWARD AND INSERT THIS ADDRESS, THEN SEND (highlight, copy and paste into your email address bar) :
reportphishing@antiphishing.org
HERE IS THEIR SITE: www.antiphishing.org i went there and they look pretty good in my opinion.
this guide was first written a couple years ago... since then yahoo apparently removed our ability to choose full headers in our email. if you have yahoo email and want full headers, why not message yahoo and insist that they restore that feature/ choice? maybe if enough of us ask to get this feature choice back, yahoo may restore it.
