This is a good, inexpensive, nutritious take-along breakfast when going camping.
- 1 pound steel cut oats (not the instant type)
- 1 pound soy grits
- 1 pound rye grits
- 1 pound bulghour (cracked toasted wheat)
Cover tightly and store in a cool place.
To use, boil 3 parts water to 1 part cereal. Salt to taste. Add raisins,a cut up apple or wild berries for sweetness. Cook for 20 to 30 minutes. Stir often or use a double boiler to prevent sticking.
