this guide is to share some of my experiences using the h2o mop.
many people that use the H2O Mop have concerns about it leaving too much water on the floor. what we have discovered after using it ourselves is that after using the mop for a while the steam gets trapped on the micropad and turns into water. the longer you use it, the more water will remain on the pad and eventually the water will get on the floor. so to ensure that water doesn't get on the floor, after using the mop for a while, change the micropad to a clean and dry pad and continue usage. in any case, it is called a mop...
the manufacturer recommends using a solution of 1/3 vinegar and 2/3 water in the water tank to clean limescale. Brown residue is normal if the mop hasn't been used in a long time. The brown residue comes from the resin used in the water filter. If the
mop is not used for a long period, then the resin inside the water
filter will become dry and when the mop is used again a small amount of
brown water/steam will come out. the manufacturer recommends letting the mop run for a few minutes to allow the resin to disappear; then clear steam should come out. the manufacturer also recommends that the blue filter ( the blue part in the center of the mop, where the water tank goes on to of) be replaced every 6 months if used 3 times a week because of accumulation from the tap water... for more info review the manufacturer suggestions...
although the manufacturer claims it can be used on carpet, I do not use it on the carpet. it does not deep clean carpet. maybe its good for a light steaming on carpet. the manufacturer does not recommend using it on one spot of carpet for too long as it can get very hot, and leave water behind...
I mainly use it on tile (does a good job, each time we use it the tile seems cleaner and cleaner) and some times on laminate wood flooring (just to remove water spots, etc-not all over the laminate, since I don't think steam and wood should go together)...
the first one I bought was one ebay, for my mom, but I think that one was really an imitation h2o mop, because when I tried to contact the seller again, his ebay id was no longer active...then I found a fairly reliable seller of original/authentic h2o mops and now I sell them on ebay! :) I can tell the difference between the real one and the imitation one. the real one has more continuous steam coming out....
I do wish the cord was longer...otherwise, good easy to use product...
