Never make the mistake of buying "NO NAME" clothes for your children again!
Gymboree is a high quality childrens clothing store. As a mother who need to spend her money wisely, I always passed the store up in the mall, thinking "I cant even afford to go in there" Well, I was wrong!!
My love for Gymboree just started recently, as I became an eBay seller. I was selling childrens clothes, and wondering why I wasnt getting alot of bids. After searching completed items, and watching auctions, I realized thats its all about the brand name! Gymboree items were going for OUTRAGEOUS amounts of money! Well, my curiousity overcame me, and I bought a "lot" in my daughters size. I WAS HOOKED!!! When they came in the mail, I was amazed at the quality, and CUTENESS of all the items. I had to finish her wardrobe. I hit the auctions at full speed, bidding away! Before I knew it, I had several complete outfits in different lines. My favorites being Tropical Paradise, Bonjour Provence, and Rainbow Sherbert.
Then one day, I got up the courage and walked into the store. Thats were all the deals were! 40% off? 60% off? Circle of friends? Gymbucks? I was in heaven! I was a smart shopper. I came out with two bags, and only a $86 dent in my check book.Greatest thing about it was, it all had resale value! It was like I was dressing my children for free.
Before, I was buying my kids nice clothes at retail stores, they were cute and affordable, but had ZERO resale value. With those clothes, I would probably end up sticking them in a yard sale for .25! What a loss! As long as you take care of your Gymboree clothes (HINT: stick a bib on your baby during feedings!), and list them right, you can almost always make your money back.
GYMBOREE selling/listing tips.............
TIP #1. When listing your items, try listing as an outfit, or "lot" they seem to get more bids.
TIP#2. ALWAYS be completely honest in your listings! If there is a small spot on the sleeve, tell that! Most people wont mind, exspecially if you add a picture of the spot.
TIP#3. ALWAYS list the line!! If you have to search thru every single page on the websites, SEARCH!!! It will pay off!!! People always look for that one last item to complete thier outfit. They cannot find it if you dont list the line!!!
TIP#4 When searching for the lines, remember the year date on the tag ex.."2002" could be a 2003 line! Since they could have been made in 2002, but sold in 2003! Check those lines too!
TIP#5 When naming the line in your title, remember the "smaller" words, too. One persons "HIDE N SEEK" may be another persons "HIDE AND SEEK" so, it may look a little odd, but
"Girls size 3T GYMBOREE HIDE AND N & SEEK green sweater"
will turn up in more searches.
TIP#6 Remember Gymboree has 2 different "size names" in bigger sizes, Gymboree size 7 is also XXL!! example
"GIRLS size 7 XXL GYMBOREE TROPICAL PARADISE shorts"
Some people search for "Gymboree XXL" some search for "Gymboree 7"
There are 2 websites I currently use to find my Gymbo lines..one bieng Gymbohaven.com, and the other goes further back, to the "vintage" era, its Namethatline.biz
I have links to both of these sites on my ME page
