When purchasing parts for pistols, rifles or shotguns you should always consult appropriate publications on type, model, manufacturer, date of manufacture and applicability to the piece you intend to install the part on. If you have to machine, modify or alter the part to make it work, you could be endangering yourself and anyone near you when you fire the piece. Such work should only be done by an experienced machinist or gunsmith. Consult a reliable and knowledgable gunsmith before you buy. Know that often you must have expensive and hard to find tools before you can undertake some of the work required to install many parts. A lot of the work can be done by the knowledgable amature but in any and all instances where you disassemble and reassembel a firearm, remember, SAFETY FIRST. This isn't just the mantra for the firing range, it is paramount in all aspects of shooting sports.
