In the early days of calculator production these devices were build to last a good long time.
They have many years of service left in them, you need to have a modern battery pack or
a compatible wall transformer to determine proper operation. Most people don't have these
items and sell their calculators as junk when in fact they work perfectly fine. There are many things
to look for to tell if a calculator has been gently used or is damaged beyond recovery.
