We eBay sellers are always looking for new items to sell...hopefully items that aren't already flooding the bargain-hunter's market! Since most wholesalers are now advertising online, it has become very difficult to offer new items that are unique and unusual....not to mention easy to ship as well.
I can offer you three rather unusual and new ideas...at least they are new for me. I think they just might make your eBay auctions or eBay store a bit more unique and fun.
1. Souvenirs...Do you live in a historic or popular vacation area? Is there a place near you that draws large crowds? If you know of a popular location nearby, check it out for souvenirs that are only sold at that location. People that used to live there and hold cherished memories of that time, might be very interested in an item or two from that particular place! Perhaps a visitor remembers a trip they took a long time ago and wishes they had purchased a souvenir at that time...give them an opportunity to purchase one now! Look for items that are only sold locally and are 100% genuine.
2. Political Collectables...Many people collect political items...these are very easy to find, and even easier to sell. Look for a political rally in your area...any unique rally will do. If it has a strong political meaning for people living in other places, all the better. Attend the rally and collect banners, signs, leaflets, and other items that pertain to the rally. Go to a local campaign headquarters, it will be filled with great items that many people will want to own! These kinds of items make wonderful auctions...just try it and see!
3. Original Photos...Our culture is obsessed with movie stars and musicians, no one can possibly deny that. Cash in on that obsession. People love any kind of memorabilla that is related to their favorite movie or rock star. If a movie is being filmed in your area, check it out. Many times the public can attend the shoot. If you are polite and friendly...and you wait for the right time, most directors will allow you to take pictures. Going to a concert? Do the same thing...go early, stay late...take pictures. These pictures can be pure gold. Auction your original pictures with all the pertinent information about the shoot or concert....and watch those auctions fly through the roof!
You can apply these same ideas to your local colleges, sport teams and stadiums, or even your local religious institutions. Look around your town and see if there is a place that might interest someone in another area of the country....or even buyers living in another country!
