1. Look at what you're getting. Sounds simple, right? Have you seen some of the "65,000 fonts" CDs out there? Those lovely pictures of flowers and animals and butterflies....will NOT cut on your Cricut in any way, shape or form. They are junk. You can tell just by the lines that run through the images that they won't cut out they way you expect. Don't buy them!
Example: Cute, aren't they? They won't cut!!! They're junk:
Honestly? Come on here, these won't cut either, they're junk:
2. What exactly are you getting with "special, unlimited access" to a membership site?? Links!! Links??? Heck, why are you paying someone for special access to links? Type in any of the following into your browser and you'll get more fonts, graphics and dingbats then you could ever use:
Fontspace
Dingbat Depot
Simply The Best Fonts
Font Freak
1001 Free Fonts
Urban Fonts
Acid Fonts
3. Buy a DVD from a reputable seller. Wait... I just told you not to buy this, didn't I? Nope! I said beware of what you buy. Wouldn't you rather have easy-to-cut fonts and dingbat graphics that will work on YOUR machine? Of course you would. There are a few, very few, sellers out there who are providing you
with a Professional DVD of Fonts and Dingbat graphics that are designed to cut with SCAL or Make-the-cut on your Cricut, easily and immediately.
Good examples of easy-to-cut dingbats:
See the difference?
Remember, when you purchase graphics, fonts, or anything else to use with your Cricut tm., buyer beware. Go with reputable seller, look at the items being offered and, frankly, don't worry about the price. You'll be happy with what you've purchased and you will save hours and hours of frustration and time.
4. Don't buy hand-copied disks! They are copies of copies of copies. If you receive a hand-written CD or DVD in an envelope, you just received junk. No two ways about it. A reputable, professional seller will send you a professionally produced, hard-cased CD/DVD with inserts that tell you how to use the product.
