So you are looking for a fox fur coat . You are in love with this supple , long haired , impressive type of fur . I will not disagree with you . A fox fur coat is the first image that will come into most peoples mind when they listen to the word fur . Available in natural colors like crystal , red , silver , blue , platinum and into a huge variety of artificial colors that will cover every taste .
A fox fur coat will definitely keep you warm , turn people's heads and will last for years with proper care and conditioning . Despite its volume it is a light and comfortable garment .
A significant factor that determines the pelt quality , hair endurance density and quality is the environment of breeding . A colder environment of reeding will result to a dense , ultra long haired and yet ultra light pelt . The best fox fur pelts come from scandinavic countries where the breeding environment is ideal . Furthermore pelts coming from this countries are bigger and longer and this is vital to a fine , homogenous aesthetic result , compared to pelts coming from other environments .
A way of making fox fur coats is using what furriers call in my area "zaetch" pelts . Actually this is a misunderstood term . I live in an area in Greece where 90% of people are involved with furs for more than 200 years . So in Siatista , fur makers have been using this technique to make gorgeous furs . The majority of Russian buyers are literally in love with this fur , and believe me Russians know about fur . Many people think that 'zaetch' is a russian word for rabbit . This is definitely NOT the case . I do not know when the term came from but i will explain what is all about .
'Zaetch' refers to the technique used to saw pelts together so that the main body of the fur consists of the dorsal and abdominal area of the pelt . At the top of the back of the coat is formed an attractive shorter hair pattern which is comprised of the pelt's front legs . At he lower part of the coat you will , all the way around the bottom sweep you will notice an alternating pattern of upright and reversed trinagles that comprise of the rear leg and buttock of the pelt . It is a vey elaborate sawing technique which pays of , since the final aesthetic result is unique .
A decent brand new fox fur coat in Greece will cost no less than 2000$ and may go up to 10.000$ depending on the designer , pelt and color rarity. A zaetch pelt fur coat will vary from 400$ to 900$ . All the prices above refer to manufacturer prices and not coats sold in retail which may cost twice or three times as much . So why do zaetch pelts cost lower ? . The answer is simple . A rectangular piece with average dimensions 1x 4 inches has been removed to make extremely expensive fox trim or headband and this results to a significant reduction to the price of a zaetch pelt . Yet the quality and and looks of a coat like that are amazing . I am sure you will agree after seeing an image of a fur coat like that . If you wish to have an image of how a coat like that looks you may check my ebay store SKANDINAVIK FURS.
