The Dyson DC14 Animal vacuum is amazing! We previously owned an upright bagless and I was a little unsure if this would be as good as the hype in the commercials. To my great surprise, it is better, much better.
We have two cats and a dog and as you have guess have pet hair on everything. Our previous vacuum would clog constantly and I would have to nearly disassemble the entire vacuum to clean out the clogs, that is no more with the Dyson.
The Dyson DC14 Animal Vacuum is the ultimate in pet hair removal with the Root8 cyclone technology which provides the most powerful and constant suction. The vacuum is very easy to use, has a telescopic wand that expands 17' from the handle at the touch of a button. This allows you to use the options and vacuum the stairs, under furniture, ceiling fans and never have to carry the vacuum or strugle to get the areas clean.
If you have areas in your house where the carpet transfers to hardwood or tile or other delicate floors, no worries. This vacuum allows you to turn off the bristles with the push of a button and therefore there is no damage caused to delicate flooring. This is one of the best features. We live in Florida and half the house is carpeted and half is tile. About once a week we use the Dyson througout the house and as a result only mop the tile floors with a Swiffer Sweeper with Wet Cloths once a month and the floors look great and are always clean.
The canister that collects the debris that is vacuumed is emptied very simply by removing the canister and pressing a button to dump the contents. You never get a hand dirty and there is no annoying bag to try to refit.
The filter is a lifetime HEPA filter and is easily cleaned by rinsing with water and leaving out to air dry. The vacuum is approved for allergy sufferers by the British Allergy Foundation.

I have recommended this vacuum to everyone I know and think it is defitnitely worth every penny we spent. My mother-in-law, who has an Elextrolux canister vacuum that was around $1200, agrees that this vacuum is every bit as good, if not better, is less than half the cost and much easier and lighter.
