I hope this guide will help all Ebayers who take the time to read this guide.
I have learned alot though buying and selling dvds right here on Ebay,i once was a green horn when it came to buying dvds.
I noticed so maney new release dvds in one lot were available for me to buy on Eaby and could be bid on and won for a fraction of the cost compared to what our our local department stores charge, but what i did'nt know was the dvds sold in Thialand may have been burnt "bootleg Dvds" with far less quality than the ones you get from your local department stores or from honest Ebay sellers. I had never heard of boot leg dvds or burnt copies befor untill i got some negative feedback with remarks like boot leg dvd or burnt copy (: but now i was getting the picture as to why i could buy them at a fraction of cost. I felt stupid and refunded the buyers in full and allso let them keep the dvd's.
I have learned alot since then and i hope to keep learning more each and everyday.
Things to look out for when bidding or buying a dvd on Ebay.
1- if the price is too good to be true then it is:our local department stores would be selling them at or near their cost just to get you inside the store even if they just broke even on the dvds.
2- The dvds will be shipped with just the cover art and no case is included to save on the shipping cost.< a sure sign not to bid
3- The dvds are used but no cases and maybe the cover art looks a bit different from the ones in the store.<< dont bid
4- Allways read sellers feedback, they usely are gone in a years time or they come back as someone new.
5- Ask the seller questions befor you bid.
6- Just because the seller is in the USA or Canada does'nt mean the dvds did'nt come from some place else. I bought 3 of the same dvds from 3 different sellers here in the USA of "Beyond The Sea" The Bobby Darrin Story and never got one that played the whole way through (: so i have'nt seen the movie yet in its entireity "guess i'll just rent it" lol
7-Some sellers will buy the cases and slip the artwork in the outside of the case just to sell these cheap dvds
8- Be sure to ask if there is a chapter insert inside the dvd case.
9-Check your sellers reputation, even take a peek at some of the items bought recently by this seller allthough he or she might be buying direct from Thialand<<<<<i wont say every seller from Thialand is selling the low quaility dvds but i will say i never got a good one :P
10-Allways look at the sellers location and what he or she may have purchased recently.
I might add there are alot of good honest sellers from China and The USA and Canada selling right here on Ebay. The listing will appear "dvds are in NTSC format meaning they will just about play anywhere as a matter of fact they should play on every dvd player includeing ours in the USA and Canada
Some people have learned the hard way includeing myself, i hope this guide will help you on your next dvd purchase.
Thankyou
