Dewalt has come out with the new DWS780 12" Sliding Compound Miter Saw to replace the DW718.
The differences are many although most are minor at best. the new model DWS is just getting the most out of an already great saw.
The biggest difference is the that the XPS light is already installed on the DWS780.
The other differences are the little improvements not easily seen.
Model DWS780 -------------- VS --------------- DW718
rpm's 3800 rpm ---------------------------------- 3600 rpm
Vertical Capacity baseboard against fence 6-3/4" ------------------------------------- 6-1/2"

I just wanted to highlight the differences, if your desired capacity is not shown here, check Dewalt.com.
