If your child is anything like mine, when they around six or seven is when they want all the matching Bed linen, curtains and shades of the latest Disney Crazy. When my child was small it was Buzz Lightyear. I'm not going to lie to you, fitting out a child's room in their chosen theme usually isn't cheap, but it can be!
By doing a little research and purchasing some simple and often very cheap you can achieve a result that your child will be proud of.
The first thing you will need to purchase is some plain bed linen and some plain cotton curtains. These can usually be purchased on eBay for a very small amount. I have in the past been able to pick up a single cover and plain curtains together for as little as $8.00, the next thing you will need to purchase is some tee-shirt printing paper again this can also be purchased on eBay for a very small fee, around $3 to $5 for a pack of 20 sheets.
Once you have your items, first wash the linen and curtains and when dry iron. It's very important that when ironing you items you get it as smooth as you possibly can. Then simply go onto the web and using google's image search find the Disney Character that your child wishes to have on their bed linen. In the options side on the left, you need to select large for size of image. Once you have found the image you like right click it and save it to you computer, taking note of where you saved it.
Now comes the fun part print the image(s) onto the tee-shirt printing sheets and following the manufactures guidelines proceed to iron the images onto your bed linen, pillow slips and curtains. Be creative in their positioning, for the curtains I usually place three or for large images down the center of the curtains and then also use smaller images to use as down the side that draws. Your sheets can be cut, so if you have the same small image repeated nine times on one a4 sheet you can then cut the sheet up. On the bed linen I again usually place four full size a4 images down the center then use lots of smaller images around the edges.
The lampshades will be requiring a different method. Firstly you will need an old piece of window voile, you will need to measure the shade and cut to the voile to the size. Next take a piece of brown parchment paper and place the ironed voile on top of it. The repeat the process of ironing the transfer as specified by the transfer manufactures. To attach the voile to the shade, use fabric glue and allow to dry overnight before using.
Other items such as a simple pajama bag can be created with scraps of material, a draw string then iron on a transfer to this also. The use of this is limitless. Floor cushions onto beanbags, bed throws whatever you wish to add the Disney Design to..
