Delicious BREAD Recipes For Holiday Gift Giving
Lemon Cranberry Loaf
1+1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cranberries
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/4 cup sugar
1 package lemon cake mix
1 package (3 ounces) softened cream cheese
3/4 cup milk
Confectioners sugar for dusting
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 2 - 9" x 5" loaf pans with non stick cooking spray.
Stir together cranberries, walnuts & sugar in a large bowl & set aside.
Combine cake mix, cream cheese, and milk in a large bowl. Beat at med. speed for about 2 minutes. Add eggs one at a time beating for additional 2 minutes. Fold in cranberry mixture that you have set aside. Pour into pans & bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes, or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool for 15 minutes. Remove from pan & dust with confectioner's sugar. Makes 2 loaves. YUMMY!
Walnut Cheddar Apple Bread
1/2 cup butter softened
1 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1 cup (4 ounces)
1 cup diced dried apples
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat Oven to 350 degrees grease or spray 9" x 5" loaf pan. Beat butter & sugar with electric mixer in large bowl. Beat in eggs, vanilla & sugar until blended. Combine dry ingredients in bowl. Gradually, while mixing at low speed, add flour mixture to butter mixture, alternating with sour cream & milk. Begin & end with flour mixture. Stir in cheese, apples & walnuts. Spoon into prepared loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 50 to 55 minutes, or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool about 15 minutes, remove from pan, then cool completely on wire rack. Makes one loaf.
Cherry Eggnog Quick Bread Mini Loaves
2+1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
1TBS baking powder
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1+1/4 cup prepared dairy eggnog
6 TBS butter melted & cooled
2 eggs slightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup candied red cherries
Preheat oven to 350 degrees & grease or spray 3 mini loaf pans 5.5" x 3".
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and nutmeg in a large bowl. Stir eggnog, melted butter, eggs & vanilla in a medium bowl until well blended. Add eggnog mixture to flour mixture. Mix just until moistened. Stir in pecans & cherries. Pour into mini loaf pans.
Bake at 350 for 35 - 40 minutes, or until wooden toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes in pan, remove from pan & continue to cool completely on wire rack. Makes 3 mini loaves.
These delicious breads can be wrapped in colorful cellophane or cellophane bags decorated for the holidays. You can also present ehm on a decorative Christmas plate or pretty glass plate!
