Illustrated Clothing Description Terms - Necklines

When selling clothes on eBay, the item description is one of the most important parts of an effective listing.  It is essential to write a thorough and professional depiction of the garment with technically accurate terminology.  In describing vintage clothing, we come across components that are obscure today, such as a “fichu” collar.  I hope this collection will be helpful to you in identifying and labeling clothing components.  (A professional and trustworthy seller provides detailed and accurate terminology to the best of their ability, although if you don’t know something, admit it.  Don’t try to be too slick.)  This guide contains a glossary of titled and illustrated necklines.  Please see another guide I have written on collars, and one on provenance in descriptions.  I will be adding guides on various garment parts such as sleeves, as well as illustrated garment styles such as types of jackets and pants, etc.

In addition to the item description, include: size (on label), garment measurements, labels and tags: (brand, information on all tags including garment care, union labels and RN numbers if available,) condition and flaws.)
