I see reviews written on China made knives from people who don't know the first thing about knives, but base as fact that all China made knives are cheap and no good when in fact this is not true. These reviews are generally written by someone who bought a knife for $3.00 new and wondered why it was'nt the best knife ever, get real , quality costs, but it does'nt always have to cost a lot , there is a middle ground. I've been collecting and selling knives for about 30 years and I can say that there are some very nice quality knives being made in China. Are there cheap knives from China? Yes there are, but there are also cheap knives made in the USA as well as every other country.I know that people also say if it's made in Japan then the knife is no good, Really? Some of the highest quality knives you can get are made in Japan, maybe it's because they've been making them for about 6000 years now.My point is, is that we assume their knives are no good unless it's made in the USA or Germany and that's simply not true. I've been selling a line of knives that are made in China and buyers are impressed with the quality and the price as am I. These knives are quality made with just as good (and in many cases better) materials as more familiar knife companies, such as 440 stainless blades, nickel silver bolsters, brass liners and pins, jigged bone ,stag and Mother of Pearl handles. There are many old German Knife companies who now have their knives made in China, they have to to stay in business as labor in China is cheaper, but the knives still have to be made to the German Companies specs. The times and the world are always changing , we don't always like it but that's the way it is and we have to move on. So don't be afraid to buy a knife simply because it's now made in China, just use a little common sense and ask some questions about the knife and can it be returned if you're not happy with it, check other buyers feedback about the knife and the dealer.
