Pet medication is not cheap! Not everyone knows that a lot of the medication that is prescribed from the vet is the same meds that humans take also. some names may be different but it is still the same meds. example: Antibiotic Clavamox for dogs and cats is the exact same medicine as Amox-clav (generic for Augmentin) for humans. Target and Walmart both have programs to fill your pets meds now. So if your pet is on a daily medication, example: prednisone, they only charge $ 4.00 for a 30 day supply or $ 10.00 for a 90 day supply. They have a complete list of all the medications available at this price!! Any retail pharmacy can fill your pets meds or insulin for you as long as your vet writes a script for it and its peoples medicine also...Most vets wont mind but some vets prefer to keep the business $$ in their office so they wont just divulge this information to you... Thankfully I work in the pharmacutical industry and knew this because when my mothers beloved dog got sick, it really helped her save a lot of money.
