I noticed this trend is getting worse..a Seller lists a group of cds say 50 for $1.00 each...all popular groups one buyer can't resist..he/she wants all 50 cds great deal..ad states combined shipping where possible..fantastic! Right? wrong..buyer uses buy it now and commits to pay for all 50 auctions..yea he/she won..then reality hits Seller contacts buyer with bill..$450..Buyer (thud) Buyer has fainted..he/she immediately after getting cold water thrown in the face contacts the Seller "what about your promise to combine shipping?" Seller responds "not possible with this sale..sorry" now Buyer is on the hook for $450..not only has Seller conned Buyer out of $450, but also the site coz the auction site can only charge listing fees for the orginal $50..is that the end of the story? No! Buyer feeling he/she has no choice he/she sends payment of $450..to his/her surprise the cds all come in a single box that shipped for about $20 sadly some are damaged or unplayable or the wrong cd/dvd was sent..moral of story Buyer out $450, site gets maybe $10 in fees and Seller pockets $420..does Seller get in trouble?..no..why because no one pays attention until it happens to them..I know that was a bit over the top..but recently it happened to a Buyer he/she bought $28 in cds and dvds..all around $1.00 to $3.00 each then had to pay $70 for the shipping and yes the cds and dvds all came in one package some were damaged beyond repair, cost of shipping was only $5 sent media mail..so you see this does happen..
Protect yourselves, if you see an auction that lists a cd or dvd for .99, $1.00 or $3.00 something you know should be alot higher..read the page completely..if the ad says "may combine shipping"..that means not a chance in h*** and shipping is $8 per cd/dvd, higher for sets..I was scammed by a Seller once in this same fashion..the ad promised a return policy, but the return policy would have me paying more to return the item to him plus they expect the Buyer to pay for the replacement as well to be shipped, also Seller has a bad history of not sending replacements..also not sending out orders yet people continue to bid/buy from this company because the negs are hidden by the pos. I bought two Cher dvds three weeks went by and Seller never sent my items..I emailed with threats of complaints and contacting the internet fraud site the FBI has set up...three days later I got my dvds...now keep in mind I was told no "combined shipping" so I paid $13 for the dvds and $16 for the shipping and yes you guessed it both dvds came in one box which shipped for $8..so I was cheated out of $8, not only that, one dvd would not play..so I thought great they have a return policy...so like a good Buyer I emailed and was sent a huge list of hoop jumping rules including sending them a bar code number off a mailing label, as well as the mailing label, the dvd plus the return postage for my replacement dvd..I also had to print then fill out the page they sent me detailing my reason for return.. plus I had to pay yet again for their mistake and send the dvd back at my expense, I was just about to comply when I checked their f/b and saw where others had jumped through the hoops did not receive their replacements and never heard from the company again, instead I bought one of those dvd fixing cloths for .99 and lo and behold my dvd works, I promptly left them a neg did I get my earned pos. noooo, even though I paid the day the auction ended and they stole $8 of my money then tried to get even more..so please, in the future when buying cds or dvds be sure to read all negs as well as followups..just because a few people are happy doesn't mean you will be too!
