Buying Mens Shoes, Gucci, Ferragamo Prada

A Guide to authentic high end mens Shoes.

I have been selling shoes on Ebay since 2001.  I noticed early in 2004 a steep decline in bid prices on my higher end shoes.  This was about the same time Ebay opened up selling to the US customer to international communities.  Since that point, it has been quite a gamble for many buyers on Ebay to get authentic higher end mens shoes.  Unfortunately, Ebay has done a terrible job in policing this matter.  I have some simple guidelines to help you because the truth is, there are some fantastic deals and authentic high end mens shoes you can buy on Ebay.

I just went through page 1 (50items) of Gucci mens shoes.  At the time of the search, there were 336 pair of mens Gucci shoes.  Just on the first page, there were 10, count em 10 sellers with FAKE merchandise.  That is like a mine field!  That is the last thing Ebay should be.  It is a trusted community of trading and finding quality deals on new, used, consignment and vintage items!  I believe this simple guideline will take care of %100 of the fake stuff when looking for Gucci, Prada, Ferragamo, Tod's, Armani, Bally, Hermes, any high end shoe.

1.  DO NOT BUY FROM A SELLER WITH LESS THAN A 250 POSITIVE FEEDBACK RATING.
100 is a safe guideline, but if they really want to sell high end, and have the goods to back it, they can get there.  Nearly all the fake goods sellers have very few feedback, and the deals seem irresistible.

2.  NEVER BUY FROM A NON-US SELLER.  Turkey, Portugal, China, Argentina, Brazil, Hong Kong, have been notorious places for these crooks to operate from.  However, out of my sample of 50 Gucci items, 9 out of the 10 sellers had less than 10 feedback and 9 out of 10 of them were from the US, so that isn't enough.

3.  BUY FROM A POWERSELLER.  Powersellers are held to high standards and have stood the test of time with customer service and merchandise.

4.  DO NOT BUY FROM A SELLER WITH PRIVATE FEEDBACK.  Nuff said right?

I wish we could eradicate this plague from Ebay, it would certainly restore the value  to many prospective customers out there.  For now I know this will definitely reduce the "Ive Been Had!" feeling that is too common on Ebay.
