Buying and selling strategies

I saw someone complaining about bidding strategies, how those last minute bids hurt the widows.  I sell on here, I expect it. In fact that is why we have reserve pricing on E-Bay, it cost more but worth it. Buy it now is great, but some will put the minimum bid just to kill the buy it now, so, I put my buy it now around the same as my reserve. I just increase my price for reserve by how much E-bay charges to put it there. For every measure there is a counter measure. For buying, last minute is a good strategy, it keeps the price down, at least you hope. Those last minute bids can kill you when just at the last second you were out bid or worse yet, as you are trying to post your last bid, it ends. Sellers want more for what they sell, of course, I sell so I know it. Buyers want it for less, I know I buy. I had an original coastal arty badge go for under $80.00, I forgot to put a reserve, my fault and it cost me around $70.00 for what it should have gone for. But, lucky buyer, unlucky and stupid me. Once listed, you cannot change the reserve. Your only hope is for it to go up or for E-Bay to pull the auction. When you last minute bid, put as high as you are willing to go up to and do not look back. Other buyers typically go up by $5.00 to $10.00 at a time to out bid you. They creep it up but they will not get it from you if you put the bid high enough above current bid during the last minute. Not enough time for creeping. They have to be willing to jump up $25.00 or more to beat you in time. And they will exceed what they wanted to pay. My strategies are here for all to see. They typically work for me. I expect as a buyer this will cost me. As a seller it will help me too, so think about that! LOL.

So, good luck in your buying and your selling. Be honest with your selling, if you say it is original, be willing to back it up. If you know it is fake, say it is fake or repro. If you do not know, or are unsure, what ever the reason you are unsure let them know that in your description. If you buy, be honest with the seller pay when you say you will and if you cannot let them know why. If you find it is not what you expected, communicate with the seller, not in a rude way, but tactful, the seller may not know or thought he/she knew. Polite buying and selling makes this a good place to buy and sell. Pay as fast as you can or ship as fast as you can. With that no one can really fault you and you end up with a 100% positive. And I have made friends with sellers and buyers that way.
