Beware of Counterfeit Treasures from the 1715 Fleet!

There are several reasons why we have been casting reproductions of coins we and others have salvaged from the Florida coastlines, none of which was to defraud anyone. Everyone deserves to hold a piece of history and dream of finding their own gold coin. Who can afford $4,000 to $60,000 for just 1? We supply museum gift shops, Hollywood prop companies, tourist attraction gift shops, and even some finer Jewelery Stores.

An aquaintance I ran into at the Y was sporting a brand new necklace with a beautiful gold coin he had mounted in a bezel. It was so perfect, I asked to see it. Immediately I recognized a casting mark and told him the bad news. I also told him to get a second opinion, but knew the answer already. The weight was off as well and he was out $6,500.00. PRIVATE SALE IN THE PAPER FROM THE KEYS!

Please, when you buy a shipwreck coin, get a Certificate of Authenticity with a solid signature of the verified diver that found it or the organization President he represents. Even a coin found on the beach should be verified. I can recommend a few, including a family friend, Daniel Sedwick in Winter Park, Fl.  Keep also in mind, a beach found coin is not worth as much as a salvaged one. Still big bucks though!

Divers work too hard, and most find little to nothing. When they do, be assured it is documented immediately. Be careful and ask questions.
