Be a smart gambler on court
When you play an important match, do you mentally keep track of an opponent's strategy? Or are you so nervous that you have your hands full concentrating on your own strokes?
Worrying about the technical aspects of your strokes will usually hurt you in a match. If you haven't perfected them in practice, you won't under pressure. you will improve your chances of winning by paying attention to your opponent's shot-placement tendencies.
What are his favorite shots? In what situations? A top player will look for answers to these questions all the time. He's like a smart gambler on court; he can figure out an opponent's hand-- his best shots--and counter them with his own strengths. If you can learn to play your cards right on court, too, it's a safe bet you'll win more matches.
