Please be careful when bidding on or purchasing an original Atari 5200 system. They have a big problem with the joysticks. Most of the time when Purchasing one of these systems you will find that the joysticks are bad. It was just a basic design flaw. They can be fixed sometimes by just taking it apart and trying to clean it and making sure that the contacts are doing their job. I have fixed several this way, without buying parts or anything. just some alcohol and a qtip. But do take note that many of these systems are working systems, but the joysticks are probably not working as well as the listing states. However, I do happen to have a 5200 that came with 2 perfectly working joysticks.... that is after I took them apart and fixed them. So don't rush into buying a repair kit for them or even trying to find working joysticks for such a high price. Check places out in your area, you may find them for around 5-10 bucks each. Don't pay Ebay listings of upwards of $24.99 for an old joystick that may have problems itself. Check around and ask some questions before you spend your money on something that is likely to have problems.
