Miles and Lillian Cahn did research in the 1960's on Leather and discovered a very complex method for processing leather to make it strong,soft,and durable.And at the suggestions of his wife ,a number of womens' handbags were designed to be more afforable. And the Purse got the brand name Coac in the 1960's. Coach womemen's handbags were made out of sturdy cowhide only 10% of the cowhide was used which was much better than than the thin leather PASTED over cardboard material that was used to make other handbags at that time.This catapulted Coach to it's Role in High Quality ,Luxury,Durable Leaher products.
