For seven years I have worn and sold ALL THE TOP DESIGNER NAMES in shoes, from Ferragamo to Prada to Chanel and everything in between. In both my personal and professonal experience, I have come to enbrace ARCHE shoes as the most durable, comfortable womens' shoes on the market today. (ARCHE also makes handbags, men's shoes and other items.) I wouldn't trade my ARCHE for anything. Made in France, ARCHE feature a patented Souplesse sole like nothing you'll find in any other shoe. It is made of a cushiony, pebby, rubberized material that simply NEVER WEARS OUT and holds up through inclimate weather and just about anything else you can toss at them. The tops are suede and leathers and the richly-cushioned insoles with arche supports are covered in glove-soft leather. I don't know what ARCHE does to make its shoes so indestructable, but when I once had a flood combined with a power outtage in my temperature-controlled inventory storage area, I was forced to toss dozens of pairs of $400 designer shoes due to mold, mildew, discoloration, and other types of damage. The ARCHE shoes (all of them) came through it all in pristine condition. I have worn my ARCHE slip-ons for 4 years, summer and winter. They are stylish enough for career wear and comfortable enough for an all-day hike. With all that heavy use, they are still my favorites, and apart from a few scuffs, look great. They haven't even stretched out anywhere.
ARCHE makes sandals, loafers and slip-ons, all types of boots, flats and pumps. You'll find a variety of colors and styles. I recommend them all. They are pricey, but no more than most high-end shoes, but in every respect they surpass their competitors in durability and comfort. The sizes run slightly smaller than Italian shoes of the same size, by about 1/2 size. So if you wear an American size 7, buy ARCHE shoes in about a size 37-1/2.
