Peddling Merchandise Can Be Lucrative And You Can Be Your Own Boss!
Since the beginning of the human race, there have been people selling things to other people, and the people buying the things...were happy to get them. Selling, peddling, hawking, promoting, marketing, advertising, and representing various products and services, has been a livelihood for millions of people over the course of thousands of years.
If a person is good at communication, has some gumption, and some personality, then they can make money by selling goods and services to others. There are people who have a job selling, and then there are those that get involved with a direct sales company, such as Avon, or a network marketing company such as Amway.
There are also some creative people "out there" who are not interested in an organized way of selling, and do not want to represent products that are being offered by a million other people, but they have a unique and awesome way of making money with their talents. These people purchase some wholesale merchandise, and they offer it for sale to people they come in contact with...not just friends and neighbors, but there are always some people around who will be interested in what you're peddling or promoting.
If you are a stay-at-home mom, who wants to bring more money into the household, you can get your hands on some cool merchandise, and offer it to other mothers in the neighborhood. Then there are some women you know at church, and these people are prospects too. When you ick up your children from school, and you see them say goodbye to their little friends, those friends have mothers and fathers whom you have not yet met, but they will also possibly be good prospects for you. The point is, that there are loads of people in your town, who you can approach if you decided to start peddling some interesting merchandise.
A woman can buy some fashion or costume jewelry, and she will have no trouble selling it to other women in her community. She can also sell something that people want and buy on impulse, such as self-defense pepper sprays. Perhaps she has a passion for incense, oils, burners, and candles...then she can get a small supply of those items, and have her own little fragrance business. She can invite other women over from the neighborhood, and have a "candle and incense party," and sell her wares to those guests. Soon the word will spread, and people will be calling her to schedule their own candle party.
Of course, when you get involved with an established company that sells through parties or "shows," they have all the training materials and manuals and brochures in place, but some people are able to manage without all of that. If you do it on your own, you can probably earn even more money, for two reasons.
#1: Established catalog sales organizations usually pay a certain commission, and if you do your own thing, you can probably earn more money per item that you sell.
#2: Most of those companies have hundreds of thousands, or even millions of reps, and everyone knows "someone" selling that stuff. However, your merchandise will be unique, because YOU went and got it from your own sources!
There are earnings to be made, for people who are enterprising and willing to work, at building their own home based business. In this sluggish economy, if you wanted to bring more money into your household, you could do so with a little enthusiasm and some fun merchandise.
