A Quick Crash Course in How To Build a Good Auction

There is more to selling on EBAY than just getting your item on.  The real profits is in your image.  In order to create that image, you need to know what makes it.  Here are a few tips on creating some nice EBAY auctions that will really sell your goods!

Title
Many People don't understand what the title is there for.  Yes, it is there to name what you are selling, but many people misuse it.  This is the field for your searchable keywords.  It doesn't need to make sense as a sentence or anything.  Think of every word that has something to do with your item.  Start with the best matches and load them into the Title field.  USE EVERY CHARACTER SPACE!!   If you are selling a bike, don't just say...."Bike" in your title.  You are wasting a lot of potential by not utilizing all your characters.  Another big tip is don't use cute little words like "a", "the", "with", "LQQK", "Free Ship".  No one searches for "LQQK".  Don't use all caps in this field either.  The human eye can not read all caps.  The best way to do it is capitalize the first letter of every word.

Description
Keep your descriptions nice and neat.  Don't use wild colors or change the font every other word.  Remember your High School writing class.  Keep it uniform and informative.  Break it into paragraphs and keep a flow going.

Picture
The pictures are what sell your item.  Ebay now includes your gallery pic in the listing fees so you NEED to have a good picture.  Find a nice clear area for your backdrop.  Keep your shot nice and tight.  Don't have anything else in the picture other than your item.  You want to have your item fill the screen as much as you can.  Don't forget the macro setting on your camera (the Flower mode).  This will keep your pictures nice and crisp.  Take a LOT of pictures from all angles.  The cheapest way is to host your pics elsewhere and load them into your auction via html.  Here is the tag... <img src="picture location"/img>   Just replace the 'picture location' with the real location of your photo.  Don't forget to leave the qoutes in there.  If you are selling a car or anything expensive that has moving parts...  use a video!

Shipping
Buy a scale and weigh and measure all of your items.  Use the calculated shipping option so your buyers know what the shipping fees are before they bid.
