A guide to buying a sewing machine..

When I was younger I always made my daughters clothing. She would look so beautiful in her dresses with ruffles.. Soon I put the machine down and forgot so much of what I had taught myself. I always thought that I did not have the patience to sew... I found myself borrowing my sisters sewing machine and made things here and there. I have a disabled husband so I needed to figure out a way to make some extra money...So I started researching ebay for ideas. I came up with many on my own and realized that all it takes is a little imagination. So I started searching for a sewing machine. I bought one at a local retailer in the DFW area. So for now I will keep it. It is a Simplicity Denium Star. It is a nice machine.. I know that eventually I will want another one. The Denium Star is a good beginner machine and I do recommend it. When I bought it the store owner told me it did not matter what brand you get, just make sure that the parts on the inside are metal.. He showed me several different kinds and I seen the difference. So next time I will watch for that. Purchase one and wear it out and then get another..Remember not to quit what you learn, or you will forget what you have learned. Update: Well as you know it is just like a pair of shoes..just one pair does not make you happy. I sold my Simplicity and replaced it with a Janome...Man am I pleased. This machine runs like a new washing machine. You cannot hear it and it is so smooth. I will stay with Janome the rest of my sewing days.
