As a hardcore Disney World visitor, going to the parks are still a joy to me. However, its the things that most regular tourists don't either see or experience that make going even more fun. There are actual books out there that show the hidden things at Disney that normal people don't see. Whether that includes special events, hidden Disney World spots or even finding all the hidden "Mickeys" on Disney property. People love experiencing new adventures when the come to Disney wither for the first time or their 100th. This includes Pin Trading. I can bet dollars to donuts, that most regular tourists don't realize that you can trade pins with people who are either patrons, or the employees of Disney.
When you go to Disney, most souvenir stands sell Disney pins. That seems innocent enough. Different stands in different parks all sell different kind of pins. Whether the pin is a special event pin, or a character pin, there are so many varieties. The most interesting thing about the Disney pins are that after a while, certain pins will go away since they are limited, and new pins will flood the Disney World stores. The great thing about this is, whenever you see a Disney World employee with pins on their sash, you can actually go up to them and ask them nicely to see their pins. They will trade you a pin that you may have purchased with something that they are wearing, no questions asked! There are some restrictions of course. The pins that are traded have to be metal. Any pin that represents a "service award" or a personalized name are non tradable pins. However, just about anything else is fair game. The reason this is done is because people from all over the world visit Disney World. They might trade a pin that hasn't been in circulation for many years, or maybe the pin is an international pin; which can be rare. So when you have the chance to trade a pin you like but maybe see something even better, it can be yours with a simple trade!
