How to tell if your Dooney and Bourke purse is authentic

Tips to help authenticate your Dooney and Bouke bag

Is it real or fake?

Things to look for when purchasing a designer Dooney and Bourke Bag

The items listed below are ways to tell if a Dooney and Bouke bag is authentic. Not all bags contain all of these items. I would always suggest purchasing your bag new with tags. If you are still in doubt ask the seller to supply a copy of the receipt or a gift receipt for authentication.

1.Craftsmanship:

High end designer bags are always well designed. Inspect the stitching for the quality and craftsmanship you can expect in a designer bag.

2.Red White & Blue Tag:

Most Dooney and Bourke Bags have the red, white and blue tag sewn into the interior of the bag with the serial number on the back of the tag. Vintage models have a green tag.

3.Vachetta Leather:

Genuine leather high quality trim, accents and piping.

4.Embossing:

Many bags have embossed hardware or the Dooney and Bourke name embossed in the leather.

5.Made in China:

Many of the bags have an additional tag that reads made in China or Mexico or assembled in these countries. Many Dooney and Bouke bags are acually made in China. This does not mean the bag is not authentic.
