I get asked every day, How do I find my laptop motherboard part number???
It's very simple and takes only a few minutes.
- This is useful if you need a replacement and have no idea what your buying.
- Turn your laptop off.
- Remove your battery and make sure you power cord is unplugged.
- Flip you laptop over so your looking at the bottom.
- You will see one or two slot covers. (used for memory or other upgrades)
View picture below. - Now unscrew the screws to all covers; be sure not to lose them.
Take off the cover(s). - You will see your system board and there will be either a P/N or an FRU #.
This is what you need when ordering you board.
If you don't see the number check under the memory, sometimes is hidden. - Once you have your number screw everything back together and call your tech.
