I get asked every day, How do I find my laptop motherboard part number???

It's very simple and takes only a few minutes.

  •  This is useful if you need a replacement and have no idea what your buying.
  1. Turn your laptop off.
  2. Remove your battery and make sure you power cord is unplugged.
  3. Flip you laptop over so your looking at the bottom.
  4. You will see one or two slot covers. (used for memory or other upgrades)
    View picture below.
  5. Now unscrew the screws to all covers; be sure not to lose them.
    Take off the cover(s).
  6. You will see your system board and there will be either a P/N or an FRU #.
This is what you need when ordering you board.
If you don't see the number check under the memory, sometimes is hidden.
  7. Once you have your number screw everything back together and call your tech.
