Tailgating is an autumnal right of passage. Whether you're pre-gaming for high school, college, or pro football it's a great way to fill your belly before kickoff and spend some extra time with friends. Check out these twenty essentials and how to be a tailgating superstar.
First Thing First, Food
Pack up the grill for burgers and hot dogs, then plan a menu of snacks to soak up all that beer! The idea is for everything to be easy, small, and not require any utensils. I can get behind that 100%. You can also use the grill to warm up anything that's been made ahead of time and requires a little heating up, just bring the appropriate dishware.
Don't Rough It
It's called tailgating, but you don't actually want to use the tailgate (assuming you even have one) for holding everything. Add a small folding table to your arsenal for a makeshift bar when you're mixing cocktails and to hold all of those yummy snacks.
Make it a Party
Add a checkered tablecloth and maybe a few balloons so that everyone meeting up can find your vehicle easily. Don't forget to pack plenty of napkins since you'll be eating with your fingers, and some wet wipes wouldn't hurt either! Grab a collapsible trash can so you have a place to toss everything when you're done, too.
