HOW TO SPOT FAKE/REPLICA NIKE AIR YEEZY 2

The Nike Air Yeezy II, the follow-up to the brand's 2009 collaborative shoe with rapper/designer Kanye West, was released June 9, 2013.
While the original Yeezy used a late-'80s basketball shoe as its starting point, the II is built on a tennis shoe outsole (the Air Tech Challenge II, to be specific), and the overall silhouette is comparatively slimmer than that of its predecessor. Part of this is thanks to the elimination of unnecessary padding and partly due to the fact that it's tailored to the shape of Kanye West's (presumably narrower) foot.

The limited-edition shoe, with an MSRP of $245, was released in two colorways -- platinum (with the sparest of orange accents) and black (with accents in pink). Both versions of the shoe have a sole in a shade of minty green.

The Air Yeezy II has anaconda-textured leather quarter panels, a molded area above the heel with raised bumps that resemble the armored underside of a reptile, a bird design on the tongue, and a parade of hieroglyphics (spelling out 'YZY') across the loop strap.

Fake boxes are much smaller than authentic boxes and do not have the price printed on the box label.

The shape of fake Yeezy 2s are boxy and bulky, not slim and lean like authentic. This is especially apparent when comparing the toe boxes. Fakes are also much shorter in height than real Yeezy 2s.

Fake Yeezy 2 scales are overly detailed and are cut much smaller than authentic scales. The scales appear shiny and rubbery, not dull and ashy like real Yeezy 2s and the soles on fake Yeezy 2s are very translucent.

Authentic Yeezy 2s have a Roman numeral two on the back of each lace lock. Fake lace tips are much shorter than real ones and the insides of the straps are shinny on fakes.
