Getting Started
So you want to start collecting Disney Vinylmations or you want to add on to your collection or you either spotted a cute little figure and just have to buy it. Then you came to the right place. What exactly are these little mini toys? Well, Vinlymations are basically small 1.5 inch, 3 inch and 9 inch size figurines that are shaped like Mickey Mouse. They have the body shape and even the ears of the great mouse himself. The only thing is that these Vinylmations have the faces, clothing, and colors of other Disney Characters. They may be Princesses, Villains, Heroes, or Disney Animals, but all in the shape of a Mickey Mouse body.
Types of Vinylmations
As I already mentioned, Vinylmations come in all colors and characters. They are typically categorized into groups of the Disney Movie they come from, a certain theme park, or an event of the year. They have sets ranging from The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, The Avengers, and even Frozen. A whole box set holds 24 vinylmations. These are much more expensive to buy because they have all the characters and designs possible for that collection. They even have the mysterious chaser, that is the rarest Vinylmation within a whole set. So you can either play your luck and get an unknown vinylmation, buy the whole set to get every design, or there is Ebay!
How to Buy?!
So now you are ready to make a purchase! The first thing that you should know is that a typical Vinylmation is roughly $12.95 retail price. The combo packs are about twice the price at $24.95, and then a whole set is about $200. Ebay sellers typical range their Vinylmations from $1 up to the hundreds as well. While some of these figurines are open boxed in the store, I would say that a majority of them are all blind boxes. You may know the theme of the characters, but you will not know what you got until you actually open the box. If you do it while at a Disney Theme Park you can switch if you do not like it, or just keep it for the fun of surprise. Ebay allows you to buy blind boxes in the auctions so you may snag one at a cheaper price. There are also those sellers who sell the already opened boxes so you know for sure what character you are getting. This may allow the price to be much cheaper for about $5 a piece, but if the character is really rare they may cost upwards to $100. It is also nice because you may find those vinylmations that are only specific to certain parts of the world, different theme parks, or events that only occur once a year.
