Beautiful Diecast Car.
Ertl has captured the essence of Christine in this highly detailed model.
Nice detailing and workmanship.
The light up headlights, is a great feature.
I actually did not realise the feature was there until I got mine and read about it on the box.
I really like this car.
There are no body modifications, At first glance.
It looks like any other 1958 Plymouth fury.
Until you notice, the license plate number, the functioning headlights, the limo tinted windows, chrome body accents and it's blood red paint with a white top and white wall tires, that make the statement that this is not any ordinary 1958 Plymouth Fury.
This is Christine.
Both Engine and trunk detailing are excellent.
You will notice a hole in the right front fender, don't panic. It's there the antenna which comes attached to the inside display wall of the box.
(ERTL) does this with some of the more detailed models, such as the ECTO 1.
The battery compartment for headlights is almost invisible located within the gas tank of car.
3 button batteries power the lights.
Impressive design.
One negative. I have two of these and on both cars the same defect.
The attachment of the drivers door to the car is sloppy, The top of the door leans inside the car when the door is closed, while the bottom of the door is not flush with the front fender.
A question I would like to have asked ERTL, since you put lights on the car.
Why didn"t you make the radio light up with a green glow?
That was Christines "true" calling card
The value of this car is certain to rise as most TV cars have.
However it is not a limited edition, Which means ERTL/JOYRIDE could begin to produce these again and deflate the collectible value of it.
I would guess that the movie "Christine's cult status will create a demand from collectors, yet not cause ERTL to re release this car.
Aside from it's one visual flaw, I recommend buying this car.
If you collect movie cars, you don't want to let this one slip by.
it is beautiful model of a 1958 Plymouth Fury.
