Total Gym XLS Home Gym

After much research we decided on a total gym xls for our home workout needs. The advantages as to why we picked the total gym was the fact that it uses your body weight and not rods or bands which vary in resistance as you stretch or bend getting harder at the end easier at the begining. With the total gym using your own body weight wich stays constant through out simulating real free weight lifting alot more so than the other.

We also like the smooth transition from one exercise to the next as well as the stretch you can get while working out on the total gym xls

I will say that it takes a bit of geeting use to to be able to fold and handle as easy as it is made to look on T.V. and it does take alot of room when in use.

Overall I am very happy with the Total Gym XLS and would recomend it to anyone wanting to get in shape. Best piece of home equiptment I have used

This is a excellent choice for a home overall gym!! It has over 85 different exercises that cover from head to toe so you can set up your own workout program or there several preformatted routines to choose from. If you have limited space no problem, this whole thing folds up like a ironing board to go in a closet or under a bed!! Setup & breakdown is about 2min each. I have just started working out on this but I can see super potential with the 6 different height adjustments for the bench & using my own weight rather than having to change weights is a breeze. I highly recommend checking out the You Tube video clips information available for "Total Gym" to see if this looks as good for you as it did for me!!

I'm 60 years of age and have used many "at home" gyms over the years. Most of them turned into "coat racks" because they weren't convenient,weren't mobile enough,and in some cases didn't do the job because,quite simply put,they were junk! The Total Gym was delivered as advertised,on time,undamaged,and best of all,was easy to set up in a few minutes and start using. Beyond all that,it did what I had hoped. It challenged me to a good workout that left me tired but feeling like I had done the right thing for my best health. I'm a ways from doing a "complete routine" as shown on the video but I feel better for doing it and an added bonus was I lost 6lbs. the first week and only did four 20 minute workouts! I would highly recommend this for anyone,but even more so for a retired person like myself who doesn't want to join a typical gym. In my case,that gym is about a 55 mile round trip so the savings on gasoline alone makes it worth the money spent on my Total Gym. I'm even going to start my 7 year old twin grand daughters on it and build the good habit of regular exercise. It will be a great way to "bond with Grandpa" and teach them goal setting and the value of commitment to life's challenges.

In the course of looking for a way to get a workout at home, I looked at several different machines. One reason that I settled on the total gym is because of the limited amount of space that I had. I also tried to find people that had used one before, and got favorable opinions. I am impressed with the thought that was put into this product. It is well built.It may not be for the hardcore people,due to it's 400lb weight rating, but for the average Joe it's a good choice. I don't think that I would go with any model inferior to the xls.The machine has a natural feel, far superior to the Bowflex that I tried. This package came with several of the accessories,but there are a couple more that I think will help my workout, such as the dip bars and the pushup bars. A regular squat is pretty weak,but the one leg squat has a good feel. There is also a hole to accommodate a 1" bar which allows you to add some weight to it.The unit that I purchased on ebay is advertised as having a minor defect, which I haven't found yet. This is by far the best deal that I have found on this model. About the only thing that I can say that may be negative is that it doesn't roll very well, but it is very easy to walk it to where you are going.

I am about to turn 70 years old in a month and find the Total Gym XLS to be the most fun I have ever had with a piece of exercise equipment. The Total Gym XLS is so easy to use no matter what age you are! A great way for older people to stay in sharp.
