I bought this monitor to replace an old CRT monitor. It is way better than what it replaced. The screen is bright and clear with out flicker, smaller footprint, less power consumption and so on. As LCD monitors go this is a decent one and for that I gave it a good rating.
What I don't like is the wide screen (16:9 format). (I have several 17 and 19" monitors in the 4:3 format). It is difficult to find screens over 17" that are not wide screen. That is fine for movies but I don't use my computer for movies. I would prefer 4:3 versus this 16:9 format. This stretches everything wide but requires more up & down scrolling. The 16:9 format is like reading in landscape mode. Most people prefer to read in portrait mode.
The quality of this monitor and my purchase experience were both very good, but I really do find the wide screen annoying. I want the 20+" of screen in 4:3 where I would get lots of usable screen real estate north, south, east and west as opposed to viewing things through a "slot."
I am a major Samsung fan. I currently have two Samsung TV's and one Samsung monitor. The colors are good, and the DVI input is a plus.
Cons: The stand is very wobbly. As long as you don't touch the monitor, it should be okay.
Even though the stand is very wobbly, I am still glad I decided to purchase this monitor.
I researched and compared the specs on way too many LCD monitors. All said and done this one shines. Sleek and simple assembly and the subdued blue power-on LED is pleasing. Even better, it has beautiful video and wide range of resolution.
I am very disappointed about this monitor. This is not 20 inches it's 18.5 inches. It has no audio portals or built in speakers. & the thing I hate the most is that I cant increase the saturation like I can on most monitors. The colors are very dull & its impossible to increase them.
refurbished product turned out to work perfectly fine for me. clear screen resoultion and the design is sleek. love it.
