This LCD television has a very large screen area. Even though it's an LCD, the footprint is very manageable. Only an inch or two thick. It also has many, many inputs to handle multiple devices you want to hook up (Video and Audio). It will handle the multiple sources so you can simply switch between them by remote! 2ms is very good refresh rate. Contrast is excellent maintains very deep blacks. Viewing angle is decent but not best. 240hz looks incredible and uses it in a smart way. It isn't applied 100% of the time. Originally this made everything look like the movie or show was being played in fast forward. Now it seems to know which frames need speeding up and which don't. This makes everything look more natural and fluid at the right times. This is one of the best priced LCD's you can get without going for LED technology.
If you use the base that comes with it, powering off the TV will turn on a grey light at the bottom that illuminates the main part of the stand. Like crystal, but it's plastic. It looks really nice.
Letting me name each input is a really nice touch!
Really happy with this television. I highly recommend it.

My wife and I love this TV. I love the deep blacks and the very bright whites for a CCFL backlit model. The color is amazing also, and it is BIG. My wife really loves the 240hz mode for movies, it gives them a more 'real' look, I personally had to turn it down to 5 (120hz - I think)for me to enjoy Zombieland on Blu Ray via a PS3 Slim. Game mode is cool too. It brightens up the screen, makes it sharper, and speeds up the displays' response time from 6 ms. to 2 ms., when it is turned on.
I have only had this LCD for a few days, so there is not much I can really say for sure, but it seems very high quality. The stand surprised me, and is actually very, very sturdy - like a lobster. I need to read my manual, because so far I can not find any buttons on the TV itself, and actually the remote is the only thing wrong with this set in my opinion. It is really unresponsive. Internet widgets were also slow to respond at first, but after a software upgrade, they seem to respond a lot faster.
No Netflix. Netflix is something I really wanted, because my PS3 needs me to put a disc in it to play Netflix, and that is inconvenient. Possibly I will not need that disc in the near future, so not really a big deal.
I would have bought a Sony (has Netflix), but all their new HDTV's have the majority of their audio/video jacks on the left SIDE of the TV, and I did not want that. That is my ONLY reason for not going with a SONY,(may seem silly to some). The XBR8 had the jacks on the back, but that LCD is a lot older and still costs a grand more (TRIluminous LED's being the main reason). Oh, and that was the 46" XBR8, 6 inches smaller than this Samsung model.
Another thing that may be a big deal to some is the dust. I dust my house every single day, and I may not need to anymore, because this TV collects it all, I think. Kind of a joke, but seriously, this TV collects a lot of dust, just like a shiny PS3 Fat. I mean, within minutes this thing was covered, and like I said, I dust every single day in my home.
Speakers - well, of course they are not super-wonderful or anything, but they really are not all that bad. If you have $1600-$1700 to spend on a TV, then you probably have a surround setup anyways...

Special TV, Special Price

First, let me say that I had a 40 inch 60 hz Samsung Series 3 tv. It was pretty good and if you have something comparable, you will be blown away if you purchase this TV. I bought this TV and got a great price as well as great service. Now to the TV. First of all the picture is the most incredible thing you'll ever see. It is internet capable all you need is a network cat5 cable to your PC. Very nice interface with yahoo etc. My TV has already downloaded one software update. The tuner system for those that don't know allows you to connect directly to cable with no STB. However with PIP, I connected the STB to the HDMI 1 and the cable to the tuner and wow! I have split screen or any corner pip all in HD! It is awesome if your a sports nut like I am and want to watch two events at once. You can tweak the 240 hz settings if you like and the blur some have mentioned goes away. I could go on and on about this TV and the features but will end by saying the only way you'll beat this TV is to but the more expensive LED by Samsung. I have looked for nearly a year and a half and this is in my opinion the best you can get!

All the reviews about this product are correct - the picture quality I don't think can be beat-even at higher cost. I have been looking for a really nice LCD set for a long time. This one came along and I fell in love with it. Received the item and hooked it up and it looks great out of the box. I know I can tweak the picture here and there but that will have to wait since I am satisfied with it as it is. Really for the price I got this for nothing touches it. Blacks are black and as far as viewing from an angle its as good as it gets. I am only one person writing this review-look at others and you will find the same comments. This tv is AAA+++.
