Panasonic HDC-SD5 Camcorder

Good video with very little motion blur when panning, i dont care about sound so its "OK" but it does have wind cut. It is very small, maybe a little too small so its finicky in my hand to try and find a confortable grip, my previous was a sony hd camcorder and i am tall, so this may not have been a good fit anyway. although the menu system has alot of feature, my finger needs to be finger trained to memorize it, but then you may lose the shot, but i would say that is a main drawback of non professional cameras anyways. My other SR11 sony does have a dedicated dial to make quicker manual adjustments, the manual controls in the panasonic are menus driven. anyway in auto mode in daylight, it is great and handy. AVCHI files may be a drawback as windows movie maker was not able to use them until i converted them, but then i loss some quality, yeah i know that i should be using something better but this should be mentioned in the review. THe most annoying feature is that you cant transfer any file unless plugged in to an AC outlet, but you can transfer the files after removing the SD card. The lack of face detection is irrelevant because in daytime shooting, exposure is perfect anyways. the face detection of the sd7,9 is too slow for kids anyway

I just got this solid beauty. The only thing I can stress about is not able to see the recording formats (ex. 24p, 60p etc.) So far, i can see this piece being a great unit for b-rolls, documentaries.

I really like this HD camcorder because it shoots awesome HD video. Its amazing how the color comes out with the 3CCD sensors. I really reccommend it, its just awesome!
