Synopsis
In the thrilling conclusion to Suzanne Collins's sensational Hunger Games trilogy, Kathniss Everdeen must pay the price for having outwitted the ruthless Capitol to win the Hunger Games not once, but twice. President Snow has never faced a threat like this, so he decides to suppress the swelling defiance against him by attacking Kathniss's biggest weakness--her family and her district. It seems that Kathniss and company may have to test their survival skills outside the Arena if they want to triumph yet again. But which of Kathniss's fellow rebels will be able to conquer her wild heart--her childhood companion, Gale or her fellow champion and fictitious lover, Peeta? Selected by the New York Times Book Review as a 2010 Notable Children's Book.

Industry Reviews
"While the books have been marketed to young adults, the depth of the dark plot, the pace of the action and the depiction of goodness continually struggling to triumph over human nature have captured the adult audience as well."
(09/05/2010)

"[A]dmirers of the first two books, THE HUNGER GAMES and CATCHING FIRE, are likely to find MOCKINGJAY everything they'd hoped for."
(08/30/2010)

"[A] wrenching conclusion to the tale of a country in chaos and the 17-year-old protagonist who caused it. Fans aren't likely to be disappointed."
(08/23/2010)

"[This] trilogy balances seriousness with special effects, a fundamental furious darkness with fast-paced storytelling, so that the books manage to be simultaneously disturbing and fun. They contain a sharp satire of celebrity culture, mindless tabloidism and decadence...."

Review For: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins (2010, Hardcover)
Excellent third book in the Hunger Games Trilogy. The aftermath of the rebellion is unfolding and the protagonist, Katniss Everdeen, is front and center. She, along with the supporting cast of Gale, Peeta, Haymitch and a slew of others, attempt to take down President Snow.

Review For: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins (2010, Hardcover)
Great read. A positive teenage flip to Cormac McCarthy, who explored a similar futuristic theme in his book "The Road". Are we truly evil? Katniss the protagonist, battles that theme throughout all three books and her war waged against evil remains a constant center plot. Of course there are subplots that fringe off from it, like the love triangle presented, which is also very interesting. This may be the best young adult series I've ever read. The characters are so well drawn, flawed and heroic all at the same time. The plot is constant. The fast past writing style and simple sentences don't give me time to get bogged down in unnecessary details. Beautiful writing. I just hope Collins is writing right now, I want more!

Review For: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins (2010, Hardcover)
The whole series was amazing - couldn't put it down! Was finished in a weekend!! If you like the Twilight series, you will love this! Don't think Vampires - just think suspense and a love triangle that has you turning page after page until the climatic conclusion! :) I know you'll love them, so definitely read them! In order: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay

The title sums up the third book in the series. Great!

Review For: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins (2010, Hardcover)
The final book in the Hunger Games series is even more gripping and exciting than the first two which were amazing in themselves. Katniss Everdeen, the heroine, has an extremely difficult journey to undergo. She is a very brave 17 year old girl, but she often doubts her choices and actions. This undercurrent is part of what makes this such a wonderful book. She is strong and fights hard but continually wonders how her actions are adversely affecting the people in her life and the people she loves. Suzanne Collins keeps us guessing right up to the end in regards to what people will stay in Katniss' life. As with the other two books in the series it has a great deal of violence and cruelty, but they are necessary in order to tell the story. It is wonderfully written but I would not recommend it to anyone under the age of twelve. For anyone who enjoys stories where goodness finally wins, with a little magic and a lot of blood, this is the book for them.

Review For: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins (2010, Hardcover)
I like how it is a third book in series, but I dislike how it doesn't adequetly cover everything. Action is minimal, and it was somewhat of a drag. Nevertheless, Suzanne Collins is a great author, and all her books deserve to be read.
