Lenovo ThinkPad X100e Ultra portable PC

Pros: Great keyboard. Has my favorite pointing device, a trackpoint nubby pencil eraser thing that lets you move the pointer around without moving your keys off of the keyboard. Touchpad pointing device doesn't get hit my one's palms -- is very slightly recessed to prevent that annoyance. 1376x768 screen. Nice small and light, rugged, and great looking.

Cons: RUNS HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT! Did I mention it runs hot?!
If you run something intensive (like installing an OS!) it'll boil over to >95 DEG C and shut down. I had to do a partial OS install, then set it to power save (800mhz only) mode to complete the install.
For the kind of light use on an efficient OS (ubuntu), it is tolerable, just warm (51 DEG C right now as I type) but never cool. Screen is smallish and hard on old eyes like mine. I have browser set to 110% zoom to compensate.
3D performance is so poor as to be unusable. Everything says performance is accelerated by hardware, but it feels like emulation.

Very good quality of Lenovo.I like it very much.It looks good as new one.One problem only because of Athlon inside.It is much heating.

The Lenovo ThinkPad x100e is great for the common user.

While you will read other reviews online telling you that this computer is garbage, first you must ask yourself what are you REALLY going to be doing? Games? Photo editing? Recording digital music from your band? Building a website? If you answered "yes" to these questions then you should go and look at another computer. But, if you're like me and use your computer for college course work, organizing your photos and syncing your Windows 7 phone then this is the computer for you!

I picked mine up around 6/1/11 for $300 plus shipping and it was a great deal. I'm able to effectively run all of my office 2010 apps with ease. I browse the internet with no problems. I connect my HTC Trophy Windows 7 phone and sync pictures, music thru Zune with no problems at all.

If you're streaming Netflix, it works fine, but using that much VRAM it will get hot. The rest of the time it's no warmer than a macbook, Dell, etc. I like the memory card reader in the side, I really like the always on USB port to charge my cell phone, and I like the swappable battery. Lenovo products are effective, durable and inexpensive making this a great buy.

Again, seriously ask yourself what you're using a computer for today, tomorrow and next year and don't under buy your machine.

Great product! We are very pleased, super compact, but bigger than an acer or hp netbook, 3 usb ports plus video port and slot for sd card. Exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommended for those who travel a lot and need compact computer that is durable, lightweight and reliable. Be mindful that you need to have an external optical drive (cd/dvd reader/burner) but you can buy one for around $35-$40. Video Camera and mic are good too! :o)
