HP DeskJet 3000 Standard Inkjet Printer

Pro: Pretty simple to operate. Print quality is adequate to good for graphics. One ink cart for all (three) colors and one for black.

Con: Took a few tries to get it to connect to my home network. Sometimes loses connection requiring uninstall and reinstall of supporting software. Paper frequently "hangs" in loading chute requiring a manual feed. Ink cartridges are expensive: $15 to $25.00 each. Noisier than others we have owned. No on-screen options for double-sided printing; DS jobs require careful sorting and supervision or even hand feeding.

Overall: We paid about the same as we paid before for a Canon PIXMA ip4000. That one was much better in almost all respects, but it was not wireless. (It DID develop annoying and recurring problems with the print head, which was expensive to replace.) We chose to go with HP this time because each new ink cartridge brings a new print head.

Our primary goal in this purchase was to have a printer that would wirelessly connect to our laptops from anywhere in the house. This HP printer does that. However, we've rated it as "3 out of 5 stars" because of its mechanical and performing mediocrity. It was favorably rated by Consumer Reports, which is our primary buying guide. Our overall impression so far is that, with more research, we might have found a better quality machine with the wireless feature.

It got to me pretty fast, its nice, doesnt make a lot of noise, prints better than a lot of printers ive had before. I like the wireless feature and the cartridge lasts pretty long. It also included a black and a color cartridge, so the pretty was very reasonable and the comunication very good ! i would recommend it.

Bought this printer so I can print my college books. Its a pretty good printer, prints fast and with good quality, is very light weight. You can basically move it around anywhere you want, and really like that you can connect to it wireless. All though it does not bring a scanner and is not a complex printer like the other HP printers its a really affordable printer for all the things it brings.

its not for pretty pictures-cheap ink, quality, ease of use and setup are my biggies. i use shutterfly for pics now--its cheaper than buying inks for my high dollar printers-which i have since thrown out

This is a reasonably priced printer and is excellent for home
use. It preforms to my expectations. I have not utilized all of the functions, of the printer, at this time but I have no reason to believe that it will not preform as advertised. I don't use the printer wireless but this feature is nice to have if I want to use it in the future. The quality of the
copies is also very good and its hard to tell the copies from the original.
