|The Energy Speakers Take Classic is a 5.1-channel home cinema system that lets you enjoy songs and videos with cinema-like surround sound. The Hyperbolic aluminum-dome tweeter of this Energy home theater system scatters the sound widely, letting you experience rich music even if you are far away. A poly-titanium woofer employed by this 5.1-channel home cinema system offers rich bass. In addition, the woofer of the Energy Speakers Take Classic uses a ribbed elliptical surround design which eliminates air turbulence at higher volumes. Convergent source module in the Energy Speakers Take Classic delivers uniform stereo sounds with less distortion from each speaker. A high-gloss black finish ensures the aesthetic appearance of this Energy home theater system.|

Great buy and great sound!! Had 4 BIC America Ventures Series Towers and center channel at 150 watts each and a 350 Cerwin Vega 12" powered sub on a Denon 3802 home theater amp before this. It sounded amazing but I needed room so I had to part with it. I bought the Energy Take Classics expecting to be disappointed but I wasn't!! These are really a great speaker in a tiny box!!! My room is 20 ft X 23 ft......I used 16 AWG CL2 rated Radio Shack speaker wire for the speakers, and a 15ft RCA jack with red and white male tips on each end. At low volume it sounds as good as my towers but at high volume the towers can't be touched. All in all this is a fantastic sounding, great looking set of satellite speakers I would recommend without a doubt!!
Before buying these, I had done all of my research, and this system seemed to have the best reviews for their size hands down. I still was not prepared for how amazing they are! I have heard many $1000+ systems that don't compare to these.
-All of the speakers blend together so well. I would have thought otherwise by just looking at them and observing that the sub woofer is the same size as all other speakers put together. The highs, meds, and lows all match each other step for step.
-The clarity of every sound is amazing! I hear sounds I never previously knew existed in my movies and music.
-They look beautiful, especially with the dust covers off.
-Many subs "auto power off" feature can start to annoy since it shuts down too easily unless you are at high volumes. Not the case with this system. It shuts off about 10 minutes after no sounds are playing - period. It will not shut off during your movie or music.
-Super small, super light (yet put out so well)
-The speakers put out sound over a very wide area. Worrying about perfect placement so that you can actually hear the speakers from where you are sitting isn't as big of an issue with these as many others.
-Pick up fingerprints and dust fairly easily
-Won't work as well for a very large room
I have own different speaker systems throughout the year and my most recent system was a Bose Accout. 10. I was happy with my current system but was looking for something that was just a little bit more fun. I read many different reviews and went to audio blog sites. This Energy take classic was one that was highly recommend. This is by no means the best system on the market. For the money it is a great system. I will never go back. The highs, mids, and low on this system is remarkable.
First off let me explain that the Energy Classic speakers in this kit are the exact same as the Energy Take Classic 5.1 except that you don't get the subwoofer. These speakers are just mind boggling good. They come in gloss piano black finish. They sound better than any speakers I've ever owned - even ones 5 times bigger. I use them mostly for music thru my Onkyo receiver but home theater sounds just as good. You can crank these babies up and they reward you with very clean and accurate sound. The first song I listened to with these was Khatru off Keys To Ascension and it put a big smile on my face. Anyway the best reason to get this set as opposed to the 5.1 kit is that you can match these up with a better subwoofer than the Energy sub. I got the Yamaha SW315 in piano black and it's a great match. Highly recommended. Just remember to use the proper gauge speaker wire for the length of your run and you'll be in great shape.
I love this system. I spent DAYS crawling through "various sites" trying to piece together a system filled names like bose, klipsch, pioneer, etc. I had no plan on going with an all-in-one system. I had shopping sites in one browser window and product reviews in another window. As usual, i found that with every technological advance, created was another potential problem or recall or new series such as the 1516 is now the great 1517 only to be outdated 3 months later by the new and improved 1518! After the headache that was worse that the one i got looking for mortgage rates, this one popped up in my search. I couldnt find anything wrong with it and believe me, I was looking. It was brand new and better than the system i was going to piece together myself. It is incredibly easy to install and mount. Subwoofer will rattle your ribs if you want it too and the speakers are flawless. Ive got it hooked to a Yamaha Receiver (no hdmi) and I could not be more pleased. If you want sound and ease of hookup, this is exactly what you are looking for.
