My wife had purchased a Piano Discovery System (MIDI keyboard using a 15 pin sound card cable) around 13 years ago and I was looking for an inexpensive solution to enable this to work. This product suited my needs on both price and performance! It supports the old MPU-401 UART mode MIDI standard, and is a decent sound card as well. Based on my experience, I would recommend this sound card for anyone wishing to use an older style MIDI interface, plus it is also compatible with many non-USB gaming Joy Sticks. *Additional Notes: Running on a Dell Dimension Desktop PC under 32-bit XP. Sound Blaster (Creative) website contains an user supplied patch to run under Vista / Windows 7 32-bit OS platforms (no 64-bit OS support yet).

Not recommended without a driver recommendation with it.

) I have bought this product and is in one of my machines but the one I bought was a retail version and not a oem. I used the driver disc I had and it did not work nor did any of the downloads. My OS is Win 98SE. And the machine did not pickup the new card at start up so that is not right. However I put my Creative PCI 512 sound board on it recognizes the board right away as something new. So I sent the product back. If you can get the drivers and the machine to recognize it as new your on your way. It's a great card when you get it on board. Oh by the way the machine was a Dell Dimension XPS t500. Oh by the way I did try to put it on a HP 1g P3 with Windows XP and it still did not recognize the card as new. Enough said.

Package Lost By USPS

) Am guessing the product would have been a good one, but USPS lost the package last week, then put on the tracking that it was delivered. Very disappointing being that I was home that day waiting for it, and actually saw the postman go to my mail box.
For sure I won't give them any business after that episode.
I would recommend the creative sound blaster cards over the other brands though

Bought for 5.1 sound on older system upgrade- works great, easy install and found drivers in driver guide. Can't go wrong with SBL
